Payment Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

All payments on elmvora.com are processed over an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS) by PCI-DSS compliant providers. We don't store your card details on our servers.

What we accept

Cards Visa, Mastercard, American Express

Digital wallets Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay

Other PayPal

Which methods appear at checkout may vary depending on your device and location.

No method carries a surcharge — we don't add fees for any of them.

How checkout works

  1. Add your items to the basket and go to checkout
  2. Enter your delivery and billing details
  3. Choose a payment method
  4. Confirm — card payments are typically verified through 3D Secure with your bank
  5. You'll receive an order confirmation by email straight away

Payment is taken when you place your order. Once it's authorised, your order goes into processing in line with our Shipping Policy.

Prices and VAT

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at 20%. The total at checkout is exactly what you pay — no hidden charges, no transaction fees, and nothing collected on delivery.

Delivery is free throughout the UK.

Security

Our payment providers maintain PCI DSS compliance, the industry standard for handling card data. Card payments are additionally protected by 3D Secure, so your bank confirms each transaction directly with you.

We receive only a payment confirmation, the last four digits and the card type. Your full card number never reaches us.

If your payment doesn't go through

It's usually one of these:

  • Card details entered incorrectly — check the number, expiry date and CVV
  • Card expired, or insufficient funds available
  • Billing address doesn't match what your bank has on file
  • Your bank has blocked the transaction — a quick call generally clears it
  • Online or international payments are switched off in your banking app

Don't place several orders in a row before you're certain the earlier attempt failed. Each attempt can place a hold on your account. These clear automatically, usually within 3 to 7 working days, but several at once can tie up your balance.

If it keeps failing, get in touch and we'll work through it with you.

Charged but no confirmation?

Check your spam folder first. If nothing has arrived after a couple of hours, email us the amount and the date and we'll trace your order.

A pending charge isn't always a completed payment — failed attempts often leave temporary holds behind that clear on their own.

Duplicate or unexpected charges

If you believe you've been charged twice, send us:

  • Your name and order number
  • The date and amount of each charge
  • A screenshot showing them, with your card details covered

We'll check our records and put it right.

Please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank. We can usually resolve things directly and considerably faster — a bank dispute typically takes 30 to 90 days. That said, nothing here affects your right to raise a dispute if you need to.

Refunds

Refunds go back to the payment method used for your original purchase, in pounds sterling. Timing and eligibility are covered in our Returns Policy.

Where a card has expired or an account has closed, get in touch and we'll arrange an alternative with you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page with the date at the top.

Changes don't apply retroactively to orders already placed.
